The purpose of Foundation Prometheus Legal Consultancy is to provide (legal) advice to those with a legal question or complaint. Given the current global pandemic, the Foundation finds it particularly important that those who have suffered in a legal sense from this pandemic can reach out for help. The Foundation is therefore primarily (but not exclusively) focused on those persons that have a legal problem which is (in)directly related to the COVID-19-pandemic. If you are in doubt of whether your question is sufficiently linked to the pandemic, you are of course free to submit a request after all. We will then assess whether your request meets these requirements and therefore falls within our objectives. 

Prometheus does not charge any fees for the (legal) advice that she provides to a client. By providing it free of charge, we hope to be able to help those who need it. In this manner, everyone is free to receive adequate legal advice in an accessible way. 

Letters of advice are written by motivated and excellent students of the Honours College of Law. The students have sufficient relevant knowledge and practical experience and will use this to provide you with a legal opinion that is tailored to your situation. The advice is always checked by a professional with expertise in the legal field in which your dispute occurs.  

Foundation Prometheus Legal Consultancy is an independent volunteer foundation. It is in no way affiliated with the Faculty of Law and/or the University of Amsterdam as an educational institution. Our volunteers all take part in the additional Honoursprogram which only implies that they belong to the top 5% of students and that they are more intensively educated. No affiliation of the Foundation to the Honours College of Law and/or the University of Amsterdam shall be inferred from this.

If you have provided us with all the necessary information by filling in the contact form, we will discuss internally whether we can offer you the help you need. You will receive a response to your request as soon as possible, but no later than within 21 working days. If we accept your request and decide to provide you with legal advice, we will contact you with further details on how to proceed.

Unfortunately, we cannot assist you at a court hearing or any other dispute resolution body. The Foundation only provides legal advice, which also means that we do not submit any letters or notices of objection on your behalf. We will, of course, be happy to discuss further legal steps but it is up to you to act upon that.
